Aleks is a classically trained French chef with over two decades of experience in gourmet and survival cooking. Since 2004, he has been teaching bushcraft cuisine and off-grid meal preparation, helping preppers, outdoorsmen, and survivalists turn even the most unconventional ingredients into nutritious meals.
From 2004 to 2014, Aleks ran a chapter of Zombiesquad, a preparedness and survival nonproift that used the zombie apocalypse as an engaging metaphor for real-world disaster readiness. The organization focused on community resilience, hands-on survival skills, and practical disaster response.
Now, Aleks works in disinformation studies and radio broadcasting through Volya Radio, an English-language platform covering Ukrainian news, culture, and war updates. Broadcasting through X (formerly Twitter), Volya Radio is dedicated to combating misinformation and providing accurate, frontline reporting on Ukraine and global conflicts.
At the 2025 Canadian Preppers Meet, Aleks will be leading the Desperate Prepper Foods seminar, exploring the culinary potential of frog legs, snakes, rodents, worms, insects, and other unconventional survival foods. He will also be taking part in the pig dispatch and butchering on Thursday, followed by a whole hog roast on Friday, demonstrating field processing techniques and traditional roasting methods.
With a passion for food, preparedness, and truth in information, Aleks is always eager to share knowledge, swap stories, and engage with the prepper community.
